Vendor Qualifications

General Minimum Requirements to qualify for membership:

All ICAN members must agree to act with the highest level of honesty, integrity, ethics and professionalism.

Verified state and local business and trade licensing and industry certification requirements for services provided.

Financial stability and credit worthiness. No liens, bankruptcy’s or judgements.

Background checks on owners and all employees.

Xactimate Estimating Software.

1 Year in business for Mitigation and Specialty Service Providers.

2 Years in business for General and Large Loss Contractors.

Meet or exceed industry standard warranty on labor and materials.

Maintain performance once active as all work is monitored to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Verified Insurance limits required as follows:

 

Direct Repair Insurance Programs for GC, Roofing and Mitigation providers: Minimum Requirements

General Liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 million general aggregate

Auto Liability on company vehicles of $1,000,000

Worker Compensation of $500,000

*Mitigation requires $1,000,000 pollution liability

*Contents requires $250,000 bailment/bailiee coverage

 

Specialty and Sub-Contractors Programs: Minimum Requirements

 

General Liability of $500,000

Auto Liability on company vehicles of $500,000

Worker Compensation of $500,000

Physical location

Uniformed Staff and background checks on all employees performing the work.

 

All approved service providers must refrain from the following:

 

Public Adjuster Referrals or Representation

Fraudulent waving of deductibles. Policyholders are required by law to pay their insurance deductible.

Lien leverage tactics in order to increase insurance settlements. All scopes will need to be carrier approved before proceeding.

Buyer beware! Vendors that promise to negotiate directly with carriers on the property owners behalf maybe advocating for customers when in fact they are only looking to increase their own margins. Promises made by these vendors may lead to an eventual lien on your property! Do not do it!

Improper billing practices including Overhead and Profit of 10 and 10 on Mitigation and Roofing, Siding and Gutters single trade assignments.

 

Note: Verified instances of improper actions may result in suspension or disqualification of membership.
